The Trinity Train Loop
A relic of the Newfoundland Railway and an engineering marvel, the Trinity Loop was built to allow trains access to the Bonavista Peninsula. After its closure, the loop was transformed into an amusement park, which has since become one of Newfoundland’s most intriguing abandoned places.

In 2024 we set out on our journey to Iceland, a place often described as the land of fire and ice, but which proved to be so much more—an island where every bend in the road revealed new wonders, both natural and cultural. Joined by some good friends we set out on an 11-day road trip through Iceland, first exploring the inner Golden Circle and back roads, before driving the country’s scenic Ring Road. As we were travelling in the first couple of weeks of September, we attempted to tent when possible, but were often easily tempted into last-minute accommodations that were not a tent when the weather turned for the worse (which it does quite regularly in Iceland).

Welcome! We are Scott and Lindsay, two Newfoundlanders characterized by an insatiable wanderlust, constantly seeking exploration and adventure. Our mission is not only to explore the world but also to delve into the nooks and crannies found in our own backyards; whether that’s by trail, water, or road. Now, we hope to share our adventures and the insights gained along our journey with you.
Be warned that sticking to the “status quo” is not really our thing, and this philosophy has certainly spilled into our travel lives. Our pursuits lead us to obscure destinations, curious wonders, and hidden gems. Newfoundland
Newfoundland, for centuries, was a proud nation that resisted the urge to join the rest of British North America in forming a country in the nineteenth century, largely because of its cultural and physical proximity to the United Kingdom. Even today, the strong will and traditions of the people here reflect a land more similar to Ireland or Britain than to Canada. The most obvious way to witness this is to simply speak to its friendly residents and observe the colloquialisms and diversity of accents that are spread across the island and its many coastal communities.
